Creating jobs and improving our business climate

Raoul passed a plan which created 3,000 jobs at Navistar. He’s also passed reforms to attract new trade shows to McCormick Place. In addition, Raoul negotiated an overhaul to our workers’ compensation system which will save over $500 million a year and save jobs. Establishing a new model for our schools

Raoul cosponsored the new law, lauded by Mayor Emmanuel and U.S. Secretary of Education Duncan, which implements new standards for educators that put students first! (P.A. 97-0008)

Streamlining and upgrading public transit

Raoul fought for a new law which establishes a Universal Fare Card for CTA, Metra and PACE riders by 2015. The law also calls for free wireless internet on buses and trains. (P.A. 97-0085)

Fighting to keep our neighborhoods safe
